I usually have a problem defecating in strange or public toilets, but it's not because of other people being around. My fear is of the actual toilet. If other people, strangers even, were standing outside my bathroom door, I could go with no problem. But if I'm all alone in a public bathroom, I wouldn't be able to go to save my life.
It really becomes an issue when I go out of town. I get severely constipated for days and I have to take lots of laxatives to force myself to go.
Has anyone ever heard of this form of toilet phobia? I can't seem to find any information on this.
