My fear of using public toilets began when I first started school and has stayed with me for my whole life. For some reason the idea of sitting on the toilets at school was extremely scary and I just preferred to poo I my undies rather than go to the toilet. Unfortunately, rather than deal with the real issue early my mothers solution was to give me medication that significantly reduced the odor and bought me black pants to wear to school the medication also made my BM’s really firm so most of the time my class mates never knew. She also had me believe it was ok for boy to poo their pants as long as they didn’t get caught. By the time I got to high school I pooed my pants almost daily and although I knew what my mother had told me wasn’t true I still continued to do it all the way through high school.
Although I am not so fearful but there are a few places I still refuse to go. They are at work on a plane or if I know people will be able to hear me. The big problem with this is there have been several occasions when I have had to do it in my pants. Despite trying my best to overcome the issue I still have problems and still resort to the medication just in case.
Has anyone else had a parent that had an unusual solution and how did or does it affected you now.
