I just finished reading the first chapter of your book on-line. It was very healing. I definately need to buy it. I can't even believe that this website and all this information has been available for so long and I was never aware of it. Are you familiar with the Dr. Oz show? I don't know if it's available to viewers outside the US but anyway, on his show Dr. Oz often talks about pooping (what it should look like, farting, bloating, etc. etc.). He has what he calls the "no embarrassment zone". I don't believe parcopresis has ever been mentioned on the show, and I've watched them all. I don't think alot of doctors know about this phobia. The colon specialist I just saw never mentioned it, and I told her that I have to be in a comfortable situation and be completely relaxed to be able to go. I told her about not being able to go at work and not being able to go if pressured by time constraints etc, etc. If someone told me those symptoms I'd tell them they may have parcopresis. I don't know if the Dr. Oz show is something you want to explore in getting the word out on this conditon but I thought I'd throw it out there. I'm much too inhibited and embarrased at this stage of my realization of my phobia to contact the show myself. They have a place on the site where you submit ideas for the show. If the show was interested in the topic, they may ask you to be a guest. To access the show's website, I google "Dr. Oz".
