the doctor I'm in contact with concerning my shy bowel (in northern Norway) gave me botox injections in april. I was really nervous about this beforehand as i was scared it would give me the opposite problem, anal incontinence.. my initial thought was that they would inject them in the external sphincter, but as he explained to me, they were to help relax the muscles around it.. i dont have all my anatomoic vocab in order hehe. Unfortunately the injections made no difference to me.. but it was worth a shot i guess. The clinic has had success ful results with this treatment in other patiens though

Good luck if you decide to go ahead with it. Worst case scenario: if the injections do give you negative side effects, the botox-effects will wear off after 3-4 months
