Since I last posted here I have an update and it goes alone the line of what Sars is saying.
It's totally an anxiety thing, for me.
I started night-shifts again(I am a total night owl) and then in July had a 3 week vacation.
During the first week of vacation at my sister's house I started using some prescription strength stool softener. Oddly enough my body didn't want to make a BM until late at night when everyone was asleep. This happened 6 nights in a row. The BMs weren't great but they relieving.
After one week at my sister's I then stayed at my mother's for two weeks. I think it was day 2 at my mother's(and still using the Stool softener) in the morning mind you, that things got moving BIG TIME. I felt completely empty and relieved. Following that morning I began making BM's after morning coffee like clock-work, and they were relieving to a full extent. I stopped using the stool softener and had continued success.
After my vacation I came back to work, still at night shifts, but was making regular BMs in the morning. In the last two months I think I've missed 2 days, in the sense that I have had only two days where I didn't make a BM. And I had to tell myself, NOT to get stressed out that I didn't have a BM. So far, so good.
I've also been seeing a therapist and psychiatrist for my anxiety and depression, this definitely helps me for overall wellness.
Might I suggest NSR mediation too, it's helping me as well.
