Heck, I've read that only around 100 years ago families would just go in front of each other without a second thought. Apparently it would not be uncommon for people at a dinner party to sit around the table on commodes (fancy looking chairs with chamber pots in them) and everyone would just casually poop while having a conversation!

It seems like much of our shame about this is a modern concept.
