Welcome, annabella! Thank you for sharing your experience. Sorry for the late reply here, I'm not on very often but I can relate to what you've stated here. I personally have been able to adapt to an apartment with three other friends for two years, which was very comfortable for me. Previously, I was unable to adapt to the dorm bathrooms and was fairly miserable a good part of the time. My current girlfriend and I are super open about pooping actually! I was able to tell her all about my struggles and she was more than understanding. I'm able to go when I'm with her and be pretty comfortable. I agree, the holidays are still difficult for me as well. I live at home and even when we have other family members stay, I start getting constipated because of the pressure, judgement, etc. that I feel if I have to excuse myself to go to the bathroom because I know I'll be in there for up to 15 mins at times and don't enjoy the comments, like "what took you so long?" Which has happened plenty of times over the years. But I have to learn that it doesn't matter. They don't care if I'm pooping. Sorry for the long reply, just wanted to share a bit about my personal experience and let you know that I relate ![]() |
