help ASAP"
The first place to start would be at your High School where you must have been receiving special education services. They should still have copies of all of your previous assessment information. Contact your previous special education case manager if he or she is still there. That person (or his/her replacement) should be able to find your old records and explain your disability to you. If for some reason you aren’t able to track down your old school records, see if your parents still have copies of any special education testing that was done or copies of your previous special education service plan. They should have been given copies of both. You can take those records to your local public school and ask someone to explain your disability and previous services to you. If none of those records are available, your only choice would be to have a new assessment done at your expense. For this you could look in the Yellow Pages under Educational Consultants and Services. You will need to find someone who can perform educational assessment. Depending on your insurance coverage you may be able to have an assessment at little or no cost through your health care provider. Good luck!
