My child was diagnosed with CAPD at 3 and went to a therapist for years and developed many skills to help compensate. He has many friends and performs very well in school (over-compensating)... However, we recently moved and his world has come crashing down. We knew the move would be hard on him as he doesn't like change. He likes things to be routine, organized, and familiar. He cannot seem to grasp the newness and reality of the move. We met with the school counselor before school began and showed him around, trying to familiarize him. She has been meeting with him weekly ever since- it has now been 4 months. He is depressed and seems to be getting worse instead of better. It is so hard to see him so unhappy! Any suggestions on our next step with him? Thank you for your time.
