My 2 cents. I can see picking up 1 or 2 but when teams are picking up 4-5 that’s an issue.
But I get it, player numbers are down so teams do what they gotta do to play.

Never really understood the bias against “pickups”.
Full disclosure I am one that picks up a lot. If my main team isn’t playing, and I would like to play that weekend why not pick up? Why is that such a bad thing?
Now if someone picks up with another team while their own team is playing somewhere, that’s pretty messed up, but I don’t think that happens a ton.
Also pickups allow tourneys to get more teams in them, bc without them a lot of the teams wouldn’t get enough to enter. Would you rather have 5-6 team tourneys every week? Previous Message
It’s bad for the sport. People complain about players not being loyal, but the coaches aren’t even loyal to their players more often than not. Previous Message
It actually works out for a team more often than not. 1 year we had 11 guys, instead of adding a 12th, we rolled with 11. Most weekends we had 1 or 2 missing and were able to pick up 2 solid players. Probably the best year we had in 10 years of playing. Previous Message
