I think you absolutely should. You have such a passion for the sport. I have a few ideas for you - specifically for powersports and your unique situtation. I hesitate to post them because I cringe when others chime in....I don't think all understand your journey. You are such as great guy and I so want to see you back on the powerlifting platform. So, my advice is:
1. Lift each discipline once every two weeks.
Week One: Deadlift, light high bar squats,
Dumbbell curls, seated cable rows, shrugs,
Seated Upright Abs...
Week two: Dumbbell Incline Bench, Standing
Pushdowns, Light Dumbbell Incline
Flys, Arnolds, front/side/rear
delt raises with light, light
dumbbells, Seated Upright abs.
A few items: do very light warmups for 5 reps for as many sets as it takes to be "warm". Then, hit one set at each disicipline for 7 to 9 good reps. Then no more. At our age, once we hit a good set - the next set can hurt us.
Also, if you noticed, your head will never go below your heart in this workout. So, so important based on your experience.
Third point: do 3 days of HIIT cardio on your off days. Shouldn't take only 20 minutes and you set your own pace on HIIT.
