Re: A prime example of why I want lifters to be loyal (committed) to NASA
I was talking to Tyson Myers last week about how lifters have a misconception that there are other Feds out there that r as great as NASA. I made the mistake of competing in other Feds lured in by the "fools gold" standard of lifting to get exposure and see where u stack against others in different Feds. What I witnessed ranged from legit judging and standards but lack of comrodity and sterile atmosphere to "lifter friendly" atmosphere where u pay for an entry to buy your trophy and u get a rock star un-family friendly atmosphere that u in no way as a great role model or parent would want to bring your kids to or up and coming lifter. This lead me to the best decision I made in my powerlifting career almost exactly 2 years ago, I asked for forgiveness for turning my back on NASA over a minor incident that got blown way out of proportion by a jealous and bitter lifter. Rich, Tad, Terry and Robin accepted my apology and welcomed me back to NASA with open arms. Mike Ewoldsen was the person that helped me make this decision and I am forever grateful to this man that I always admired as a loyal elite lifter and great Christian. This is the main reason I made the USA Nationals for the team event to prove that I am a team player and I want NASA to continue to flourish and uphold the integrity of powerlifting the way it was meant to be. There really is no better Feds out their because they do not have the intangibles of comrodity, standards and character that NASA as a whole encompasses. I hope other up and coming as well as veteran lifters learn from my mistake and do not waste 3-4 years of lifting like I did!
