Stainless retro style T140 V rear fenders 10% discount to Notice Board users this week!
Backgroud stuff: Fitted a Boyer Bransden electronic ignition, followed their instructions... set crank at full advance (38 deg I think) and positioned the pcb as per instructions.
Also fitted Mikuni carbs (I have a feeling this was a mistake) The Mikunis have 2 clear/pink hoses hanging off each side of the carbs. Cannot figure what they do, balance tubes??
While starting, got the odd backfire, mainly through the carbs but also from the tail pipe with a bit of a flame.
Tried to retard the ignition without any success.
Tried to start with and without chokes (choke on the Mikuni is a lever that lifts something possibly opens a jet).
Also beginning to wonder if I got the cam timing correct, this was done about 2 years ago. I do remember getting advice on that from you guys.
Apart from doing leg presses at the local gym can any one give me some pointers please.
