Fired it up last night - my wife thought the neighbours wouldn't have been as impressed as I was at 11.30pm -once I remembered it had a stop switch, it ran first kick bloody good job as there is so much compression with higher comp pistons, slight skimming of head and barrel and a couple of hours lapping valves in, I really don't want to spend long kick starting it.
Only had a half mile run but feels like a bit of clutch slip, I'll run it properly before tightening springs up more.
It doesn't want to tick over without coldstart on which is unusual for this engine, just wondering if the new "R" camshaft and dialled in cam timing needs a richer slow speed mixture - has anybody else noticed this?
So if you see a guy smiling like a cheshire cat when you're out over the next couple of days - please stop and say hello to me!!!
