If you remove the lower right rear bolt and leave the engine(with gear cover) hanging on just the right plate top bolt with nut removed, you can get the left hand plate and fixings, also the underneath big long bolt out completely then take out front bolt before lifting the lump of the right hand plate. It's pretty straightforward once you get started.
