Stainless retro style T140 V rear fenders 10% discount to Notice Board users this week!
I have a 1979 T140D that wet sumps when running.Ijust got this bike. It was smoking so I replaced the worn valves and guides and rings. After running for a few minutes it will start to smoke and when I drain the sump I get about 400ccs of oil.
I installed a new UK pump and a new pressure relief spring.
It has 75 lbs oil pressure and good return to the frame and rocker oiler, still wet sumps.
Scavenge tube looks low enough and holds vacuum when tested. Gearcase/crankshaft seal is new and yes the pump gasket is on right.Primary has the correct amount of oil.
When the engine is started you can watch the oil in the frame go down and it has good return. It just doesn't seem to be able to catch up to the oil in the sump. Any Ideas anyone?
Thanks Ron
