Hard to start
Posted by Paul on 9/28/2016, 7:40 am
Hi Blokes, my 78 Bonnie had been starting first or second kick, even after sitting for a week or two ( it does sometimes rain and get cold in Oz )then about 2 weeks ago it became increasing hard to start ie,50 kicks or more. When it did start it ran and idled beautifully as is usual. I have checked and charged the battery , checked the fuel, drained the carbys, and have a good healthy spark on both plugs. Next stop is to check and re-set the exhaust tappets as a mate suggested this could be the problem. Does this sound like I'm on the right track and should I also do the inlet tappets? Thanks for your combined wisdom. Paul
