Hi guys,

New to sea fishing (and NZ...Yip, anther bloody POHM) and have been loitering on the website for a couple of weeks now. Thought it was about time I said hello!

Got this Friday off work (no wife or 2yr old lad for the day) and am planning on getting out to one of the beaches here in Hawkes Bay.

Question is...Is it really worth fishing anywhere other than at the river mouths at this time of year? Everyone seems to head to the Awatoto or Haumoana river mouths for Kahawai, is it worth heading north of Napier or to Te Awanga or Ocean Beach? Am I likely to catch anything?
