We left Gisborne this morning at 4.45am and headed to whakiki for the change of light we arrived to nil swell and a slight NE breeze. The rods were a let down only snagging 1 miserable spiny dog, We took the longline and a bait bin full of Pilchard, Fresh kahawai and yellow eyed mullet hoping a snapper would finally appear. Unfortunately we didnt see a nice wide red tail appear in the small surf. We were still happy with a return of 7 Gurnard. plenty of spiny dogs And a large skate. overall a great relaxing day Fishing.
