have had same thing with 222s and even top range casting rods just from use.buy some seal tite bowstring wax,it is a silicone lubricated wax, made in the usa.may need to go to a archery shop. rub on tip section build up a little,heat with heat gun or cig lighter.push join togather and work in and out until wax dries again.
