Less than 2 weeks to the Moki 1000 and the fishing along the southern wairarapa coastline has been firing of late. There have been plenty of kahawai working very close to shore, the blue cod fishing has been nothing short of sensational, and of course the odd Blue Moki has been caught as well.

The weekend gone saw a couple of moki caught on saturday morning, unfortunately i was unable to tempt one due to the blue cod frenzy, 2 hours fishing resulted in some nice Blue Cod with more than 20 being released. the most notable thing was most of the cod were caught between 5 and 30 metres of the shoreline in the middle of moki territory. You do not need to be a avid caster or fishermen to catch fish here, my other half cast her own rod and caught her own fish.
