I don't usually get involved with the Saturday afternoon television fishing programmes. However, yesterday, whilst cooking my tea, I had the box on warming up for the news.

When Mr Thomas started his usual banter it started to ring a few bells, I had been down this path before many, many times, and suddenly a great light dawned. Now to all the august members of this site who have tried valiantly to catch a feed, at last the secret is out and I am prepared to share.

I had a realisation that this is the umpteenth programme I had watched and it's not the bait, it's not the method or even the location. Take a rugby player with you, preferably a current or past All Black, and success is practically guaranteed.
