Never saw a kahawhai but along near the rear of the aquarium we could watch some small fish scattering then large fish jumping, completly leaving the water. I am guessing these were small Kingfish feeding on small kahawhai. This would have been approximately 100 metres from shore, well within casting range.

The snapper was caught at about 5:30, the Kingfish about thirty minutes later, both just before the high tide.
