It was a good competition but what a day though. Dunno if it was all along the beach but I found it hard fishing in that side current. I couldnt even keep a six ounce sinker with a rubber band on it in one place. Shame the sea whipped up the night before. The best part of it was the beer at the Duke afterwards. Well deserved by all I reckon.
Well done to Nick the winner for scoring two prizes but my admiration went out to the two older gentlemen who were fishing next to the second spot I went to. They were in there wetsuits, wading out along a sand bridge and standing in the pretty solid surf so they could get into the outer channel with what looked like pyramid sinkers on small baits. I couldnt even get across the adjacent inner channel as I'm a bit to short for that. Those men deserved a DB. And the fish they caught too.
