No such thing as too bigga live bait there. They were catching piper in the surf toward the mouth this morning but just catching Kahawai. Several big splashes sighted tho. Put some liveys out at whakaki the other day all i caught were Kahawai and got Sharked on another. A lot of small pilchards or anchovies skittering around tho, getting smashed by the odd cruising Kahawai. Did see one kingfish when i first arrived but typically never had gear set up at that spot. Did you get much river weed at Mohaka?. A lot running out of the mouth at present.
