Monday night would come close to the most satisfying session iv ever had. It is the first time i have ever caught a decent size snapper off the beach in Gisborne. I have caught plenty of kahawai and gurnard but to actually see that red tail come down the wave was awesome , It was not the biggest i have caught at all but after trying so long it was great to finally get the success. it was the first cast of the day at about 630pm, using freshly salted bonito it took only 2-3 minutes before the road bent over. I caught 1 snapper 9 kahawai 2 eagle rays and cod in the space of 2 hours. The snapper didn't even make the trip home it was filleted and cooked over the hot plate with a few Double browns the see the night out.
