Dodd, in the back of the surf it has steel ring tie downs on each side,I got some fish bins from the red shed and put the gear in them, then stuff the kids jackets and spare clothes on top putting a bungy cord over it all to the tie downs on each side.
Crude but effective "temporary storage solution"

Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.
