Some of the cheaper hooks are very good. Caught plenty of big Snapper using a little known Korean brand. Also brought no name hooks whichwere sharp and strong, but thick and small for their size. I only use circle hooks so sharpness is less important.

I have had hooks fail from all the big brands. I have found Gammys are likely to bend while Owners would snap.
