Re: nice eaters
Good ole northland fishing off the rocks along taiharuru used to really turn on some good fishing bet scrap I had with a snapper lasted 15 minutes (started to get into the big ones once I was converted to stray lining whole pillies off the rocks), then there was the episode proving to my stupid ex brother inlaw that fresh trevally was the best bait around chucked on a big lump of it big hit, drag got hot and reel got spooled with the drag done up as far as it could go resulting in buggered sub $100 daiwa reel and a big smile on my face when the ex brother in law was sitting there going faaaaaaaaaar canal all I could say was told ya trevs make great bait just to rub it in more. Funny thing was I also used to have a cheap surf reel I got from the warehouse for $15 it just would not die the only way I lost in was when it went in the water with the rod it was on at urquharts bay wharf when my young feller tried to cast it. ahh the memories of norhtland fishing at its best.
