Hot off the press, we the Western Bay Surfcasting Club held a meeting last night with the Rotary Club of Papamoa and the decision was made not to hold the Kahawai World Cup this year [2014] but hold it on an annual basis from 2015. Sponsors were both hard to come by and slow to react this year but the commitment is now there to provide a completely revamped exciting contest each year from 2015. A public announcement will be out very soon and the first step will be to form a steering committee and get the work started as 2015 is not that far away. One of the first things will be to set a date so if you have any thoughts on this please post. I will keep you updated as we progress through the year.
