I got hammered at Whiritoa last weekend,biting great but smaller snapper I think. My 5/0 hooks bit big so maybe down a size to 4/0. Did manage a couple 36-37cm but probably majority round 30cm.
Baits getting smacked before rods where in sand spike.Should fire up towards end of this month.
My spot X is producing nice size snaps.
