All I know is we've encountered these anomalies before. I distinctly remember copping a frost here on Xmas eve one year! Look at this wicked Hurricane Patricia. Biggest one yet. Everything seems to be in turmoil. All to do with the tradewinds, water temp and good old fate I reckon, oh and probably the El Nino again.
