    WSCC held it's monthly comp last weelend and people were spread from Matata to Lottin point
    I think the final count was 7 fish
    several of us hit the rocks and only returned with 2 eels i kahawai and Phil (Bob the Builder) a 24kg Tope shark
    Graeme burgess also a tope and kahawai
    The highlight was the Rugby and most decided that home was better than out fishing
    Danny coates acheived Dick of the Day for trying to hook a conga eel repeatedly to no avail and was a little mifffed when father proved to him that it was in fact a ROCK.
    A report that a fine 23lb snapper was caught down the coast last week was the reason we were lured to places afar
    Early whitebait have been found in the gut of kahawai locally and just maybe that will trigger the fish into action.
    However it is disappointing that the Kahawai numbers are frighteningly low in the bay and juniors are all that we are catching at the moment.
    What is happening to our fishery as i have never seen it so bad for at least 6 years.
    soon we will have to fillet YEM's for a feed and the cat will starve.
    We could however buy a boat but they areny catching either and it's not like real fishing HAHAH
