Am planning to custom build a rod to suit me . I need it to surfcast for trevally using fixed spool plus braid 125 and 150 gm weights plus 2 baits-soft shellfish -and to enable me to throw as far as possible. Closest rod i have found to date is the solaris 13.5 ft. i see the uk tips are getting down to 2mm whilst the solaris is more like 4mm .I wonder if the century tip tornado light might suit or the new zipplex 3500-but that might be too stiff
