your above statement is not very accurate charlie.......... competitions are fun in " family hours" its not so mush for the fishing but more for a fund raiser and a 7 or 8am start will draw more of a crowd than a 4 or 5am start!!!! to run a productive fishing comp.......... the whakatane comp is perfect!!! fishing through the night is the most produtive way to fish alot of areas...... during the day in most places is dead
and as for the 90mile contest although i have never been there would be plenty of fish caught mate.......just not snapper but the likes of kahawai and what not are still present its just they count for bugger all
where there are restictions and boundry's its not realy a fair comparison.... where the is freedom of choice on the other hand this can be taken into account
