IMPs v Impact Shields Archived Message

Hi. IMPs have been in use for a while, and I know some guys will have given them a good work out. What is the best way to rig them, and are they better than impact shields?
I have tried IMPs (pulley rigged) but found they let go quite regularly during the cast, when the sinker swaps from laging to leading. They are about the same as the pro-link bait clips I have used (also pulley rigged), in reliability.

I rig my impact shields in dropper form, with a spring to tension the rig and find these to be very good and only drop the bait occasionally.

My baits are quite bulky which may affect the IMPs, but use the same baits on the impact shields which don't seem to mind.

I could give up on IMPs, but I don't feel like giving them away just yet. Wondering how others have found them?
    cheers.
