    Hi Lads

This is sort of a thank you to you all. Was it only two months ago I decided to get back into surfcasting. So I typed " Surfcasting" into google and thats how I got here. And to lots of other places. Talk about tackle and gear changes since I last pursued the sport.

And now I am using pully rigs and bait clips and all these new things. And a new rod and reel, and new casting techniques and I am soaking up so much information I am going into overload. Its like I mastered the old ways and now I am a new chum and have to start all over again. Don;t worry we still caught fish back in the old days of glassies and Mitchels reels and the overhead thump.

But I am amazed how far things have moved forward, so much better gear, better everything.

And the internet has managed to bring it all together. Online shopping etc, info sharing, forums. The whole parcel.

I turned 60 today, but now I actually feel about 50 as there is a new challenge in my life. My aim to land a horse down here on the West Coast, Sth Island of course. And my first Westport carrot, and a few lemoms and whatever the orchard or vegetable garden turns up.

Thinking back I think I ended up here after doing a google on flounder fishing. And Geno's Longline flounder fishing post came up. As that is actually my bookmark. Cause I am going to get into that.

Hey Geno I used to fish a lot in Raglan, surf and boat, lived in Hamilton and married a Raglan girl, so spent most of my days off in Raglan. Not with her now but still have connections in Raglan. She was a Kereopa.

Thanks Fella's for having me and all the good sh-t we yarn about. Good on ya.

    Cheers Trev
