I heard a rumour that Santoft has started producing some snaps. I also heard that the Air Force have opened up the stream by the bombing range to such a size that it now impassable. None of these rumours confirmed yet.
Santoft can also be a great place for gurnard and kahawai during the day. I've personally found dead low tide to be best for daytime fishing there because you can get right out into deeper water. Obviously this matters less during darkness.
Has anyone heard any news on the overnight comp that used to be held there? It used to be held in early August from memory? Was a great comp. Was always freezing bloody cold too.
