    hi James
Gisborne comp is a Kahawai comp, on saturday 22 from 8am till 2pm. Tickets are $10 per rod and available from headquarters on the day from 6am. headquarters is on the corner of pacific st and centennial marine drive which is beach front. Heaviest kahawai wins$1000 cash and product voucher prizes for 2nd till 10th and spot prizes also. Boundaries are Pacific st to 500 metres from Waipaoa river mouth, preferred bait! Who knows but my guess is that they kahawai will be chasing whitebait up the river so anything resembling whitebait (in soft bait form) or our sponsor told me today that Sambar is his favourite for kahawai or bonito or pillys, so really it could be a big seafood cocktail of bait. No rule on length of trace or size hook but their is a two hook only rule, this includes keeper hooks. There is no spinning, treble hooks or lures and all kahawai must be 300mm in length. All the rest of the rules a fairly standard. If you wanna stay overnight you are more than welcome to join our club at world cafe with Gary and sue, bill and linda hohepa as our official guests and on sunday gary is holding a casting clinic from 9am till 1030am at Watson park, opposite comp headquarters for all interested. I hope that helps James, just ask if you need any more info and hopefully I can help.
