Don't Know About Perfect Here. Archived Message

Posted by Geno BOP on 24/9/2007, 8:47 am, in reply to "Re: perfect conditions"

I shot over to the straights yesterday arvo.
Sorry I did... got buried in a cloud with strong constant rain, and result = not a peck, not bloody one!!!
Stupid part was... it was fine in Pineconeville, o/cast in Roto, good still at Pongakawa and Rogers and Otamarakau but the closer I got to my destination on the straights the lower and greyer the cloud became.
Right on loss of light the tap really opened.Cloud was at ground level... NE'ly picked up quite a few more knots too.
Not ideal fishing conditions, but clean water with a little weed.. not enough to make you want to stop..
I tolerated it till about 7.30pm and said bugger it and went back to Roto for a cuppa with Frosty and then home.
When I got home the moon was out!The missus said it hadn't rained since I left!
    Sometimes ya just can't win...

PS: Neil did well at Thornton yesterday... about 15 kahawai, that was earlier in the day tho..
    Good work Neil.
