I went for a look on low tide last night, but too rough so flagged it. Drove along Fairdown this morning and was quite surprised how bare it was. I havn't seen so many stumps showing for years. There is one good sand bank on the Waimang beach and you can drive back along it at high tide. Hi there Lyndsey. The red cod were in good condition, so I kept one to fillet and will have it for lunch tomorrow. I didn't see any worms either. Was in Chch over winter and saw red cod for sale in a fish and chip shop( called Akaroa cod) and it was the second most expensive fish after sole.
