The first difference between lemons and spiny dogfish is the spines. One in the front of the dorsal and one in front of the second back fin. Next is the colour. lemons are golden/brown colour with small white spots on their backs and spinys are a grey colour with larger white spots. Spinys also have a nasty set of teeth that with do massive damage to your traces and lemons have a crushing plate to eat them crabs.
