Re: Surfcasting around Whangarei Archived Message Posted by Chad on 31/10/2011, 2:23 pm, in reply to "Re: Surfcasting around Whangarei" Yeah Waipu is a good area karla, head towards waipu cove, there is a little gravel road on the left that takes you to a sand spit, you can walk across the water at low tide with ease, towards high tide though it can be a bit deep, few shellfish around there too. Low tide on dark on that spit usually will see a few snapper hit the sand.
