    So you want my vote Mr Politician? Then you must do something for me in return.

    Poaching is poaching no matter if its done by a unemployed ex-con or by a billion dollar consortium.

    So here's some ideas:
    Applying fines to corporations who 'infringe' on my birthright is a waste of time. You cant hurt them with fines. It will just be configured into 'their costs of fishing'.
    By all means confiscate the boats and land based equipment, but also confiscate or cancel the quota they are using. Whether they own the quota or lease it, its gone, null and void, doesn't exist anymore.
    DO NOT put their quota back into the pool to be purchased by more unscrupulous entities.
    Prohibit that company and/or the people they leased it from, from ever buying or leasing quota again.
    Prohibit the people involved in that company and/or the people they leased it from, from ever buying or leasing quota again.

    If Kiwi's who own quota want to lease it to dodgy foreign enterprises they run the risk of losing it, forever.
