The issues are as follows and the outcome is not what the Council wish but it is the best solution at present. 18 months ago the Trust whose land must be crossed (and the carpark is also on) expressed concern at the amount of people camping in the carpark, creating noise,leaving rubbish and being abusive when spoken to. One of the Trustees wanted to take the matter into his own hands and erect a gate at the top of the hill. The Council were given an option of managing this and installing a gate and controlling it or having the gate installed by the Trust and them controlling the opening and closing times. To their credit the Council have taken the better option for all concerned and have also negotiated the opening of the gate at 6.00am. Whilst I am not happy about this situation and will work to see if we can get some arrangement for fishos, we have once again been shafted by the minority. I am perfectly ok with freedom camping but I have seen the crap ( literally) left in carparks by those arseholes who think we are their sewerpit.
