Sea has been very rough for most of the week, it is only just starting to come right. The swell has been up to 2 metres and the fishing has been average, although there has also been allot of water falling too.
I see there is a southerly comming through mid sunday, and after this rough weather the fish should come on the bite well. Blacks beach has been fishing slow with mainly small snapper. I would recommend hitting the deeper water towards the cut.
At the moment there is about .8m-1m of swell and it is flattening off. Its dirty in close, but that will allow the snapper to bite through the day. Fishing has been best late in the day from 6 pm onwards.
I would think there may be a little to much swell and unsettled water for tahanui gurnard at this stage, but it wont deter the snapper and kahawai as well as small trevs that have been present.
