    East Cape Fish Archived Message

    Those clubbies who fish last weekend headed north around east cape.

    Pete, Nan, Marsh and myself fished east of Waihau Bay. Water as a little dirty, but it didn't take long to pick up the first of many ky all over 1.9kg the best going 2.66kg After a while every bait was getting hit by big and good conditioned ky. After catching 6 it was time to stop using pillys and try for some pinkys. Changing to squid it didn't long to start producing some burgers. Pete and I moved down the beach to where Nan & Al were for the night and fished to 2.30am.

    Sunday 6am, squid bait first cast, solid burger! We all moved back up to original position on the beach, where we continued top catch fish right up until it was time to leave at midday for a 3.5 hr drive home.

    Weigh in bbq was at the Hollices', a few beers and a great feed with mates and family doesn't get any better.
