Yeah I have 6 days off now, kicking off at 6:30am in the IRB out the Wairoa bar and head down to Waihua. There is plenty a snapper down there. Then the plan is to beach launch Saturday off Tahanui.

The skippies keep throwing my hooks this year, I have hooked about 30 on the plastic rod and lost the whole lot during the fight or at the boat, it's been agonising.

10.2 is a fantastic fish, there has been a few on the longlines at Whakaki- not many.. and a few in the dingys at Waihua.

As Kane mentioned, there is lots and lots of kahawai around and a few toothys too. The gurnard are due to thrive in this settled weather...... Wont be long, they where fishing bloody well before the past southerly.

The effects from all the fresh water is still about in mahia, the water is stained green for miles, starting to clear up though.

Good luck this weekend boys, im sure ya's wont need that though!!
