Lot of Wellington history in that book. If you join WSAC a copy of it is free when you apply.
Wellyfisher. Many people in Wellington go years without ever landing a snapper. You've managed 3 in a year and a half. I'd say you're doing okay really mate. Wellington is a very difficult place to fish successfully. It requires a lot of knowledge and a good mix of luck and favourable conditions.
From what I've read of your catches so far I'd say you are just an impatient newbie who wants to catch the world before he earns his stripes. We've all been there. Hell, I'm still there. I've caught a truck load of snapper, but not one worth half of the bragging rights of many on this board. It takes time to gain skill, ideas, and the know how to find what you want to catch in Wellington especially. Keep at it.
When you join WSAC talk to the older guys. Decide on your plan too. Many choose to fish for points. That wasn't really my style. I was more about learning and challenging myself. I failed more than I didn't, but I loved every second of it.
