Getting to the guts of fishing spots Archived Message

Just noticed in a pic taken Saturday of Sue with here pin kahawai (2.555kg) that the water behind is quite descriptive. You will see some dark green water just off the edge of the sand, That is where we caught fish during high tide, It was about waist deep at high tide. As the water dropped with the tide the fish moved back into the flat water area in front of the last breaking wave in the pic. That appeared to be a much deeper channel. Before we left with the tide advancing the fish came back into the close gut that extended half a kilometre up the beach.
Our catch from these two spots for the day was 24 kahawai, a 30kg eagle ray and a smooth
    hound of 6.5kg.
